"Rescue" Pets
Submitted by chasland on Mon, 08/29/2011 - 09:28.
In these tough economic times, people have had to give up their family pets because they just can’t afford them. One cute older dog named Lily lucked out when Sam and Ken Reed decided that they needed another doggie companion after losing Sir Puppy to old age. Going online, Ken found Lily at the Humane Society and set up a visit. “The Humane Society is very careful who they accept as new owners for their pets,” says Ken, “and fortunately we and Lily were a perfect fit.” Lily is a 7-year-old Shih Tsu who is in good health except for dry eyes requiring daily eye drops. She had two previous owners and was much loved because she’s a very happy, quiet dog who is satisfied with only 3 walks a day. “Thank goodness for that!,” Sam, the dog walker in the family, says with a chuckle.
